Replica Shoes-Are they worth a shot?

I've recently noticed a surge in people claiming that they have bought replica shoes from overseas retailers for cut price yet the quality was excellent. It got me thinking why isn't it not more mainstream to buy replicas rather than shelling out hundreds more for the real thing?

An example of this would be the Nike Magista Obra. A 260 euro football boot seems very extravagant, and indeed is only reserved to the most diehard footballer or football fan. Yet, with a little research, I've discovered a replica of this boot can be bought online for as little as 49 euro (80 with 7 day shipping).

I've told this to numerous people who have all exclaimed the same thing "Yeah but they were made in China they probably look terrible" which i always reply with "Where are all other shoes made then?.

I've recently purchased some shoes from one of these sites to test their quality. While I wont say the actual site i will say that the replicas are based on shoes worth not hundreds but thousands, so i will be eager to find out how they feel and look. I'll post again when i receive the shoes with my opinion.

UPDATE: Yeaaaaaahhhhh....don't ever try import from China. Customs took the replicas and destroyed them for infringing on patents. Good job by customs, keeping dangerous shoes off our streets and drugs in the hands of dangerous people!
