Nike Yeezy "Red October"

Well, what a rollercoaster these sneakers went on. These are the infamous Nike Air Yeezy "Red October", Kanye West and Nike's 3rd collaboration.

When first seen on the feet of Yeezy, these shoes created a firestorm of rumours and had sneakerheads fretting to when they would get their hands on a pair, "Where? When? How?" they all asked. The answer to that was pretty much when Nike damn well pleased.

The "Red October" launched in a suprise drop on February 8th 2014, after a notification tweet from Nike's account. Selling out within minutes, they promptly appeared on eBay auctions for anywhere between $5,000 to $10,000 (and even $16,000,000 with a bid clearly seen as sarcasm). Those who managed to get them, either worshipped them as a jewel in their collection or sold them for ridiculous profit. So why did Nike release them like this? Well, it's anyones guess. The theory most people say is that it was simply a falling out between Nike and Yeezy himself (a theory supported by the fact Kanye is now a key figure for Adidas) and that Nike just wanted to be rid of that particular partnership.

The sneaker itself, for those lucky enough to own them, features an all red sillhouette and Air unit in the heel. A forefoot strap and geometric pyramid effect on the upper complete the look I beleive only a person like Kanye West could really pull off.

If you happen to come accross a cheap pair, be assured they are fake, but still buy them and enjoy the looks you get for having such a rare sneaker.
